Industrial equipment

We are unusual amongst design consultancies in having the experience, facilities and space available to undertake physically large industrial equipment projects. In many cases, our workshop facilities will build and supply the first equipment units.

Cost and performance are always important factors. But usability and ergonomics can also be particularly significant for these larger pieces of equipment. We often undertake detailed ergonomic studies based on Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) techniques and use re-configurable rigs to benchmark alternative configurations, thereby homing in on the optimum solution for the user.

Our experience in the design of such equipment includes printing press control desks, food testing instruments, reprographic scanners, drug storage and retrieval systems, robotic drivers for use with rolling roads and hospital macerators.
