How do you design a tool that delivers continuous value to the user at the same time as being picked off a crowded shelf by the consumer?
This is usually the same person with different need states. For tool brands sold through consumer sales channels we like to split research between consumer context, through purchase journey work and user context, through task analyses and anthropometric reviews to balance the customer's two value hierarchies. Once defined, we create, develop and validate concepts through iterative loops of prototyping and usability trials.
We bring forty years tool and hardware design experience to each new project. Many of our designs have been sold continously for over twenty years. This is because they are technically robust, cost effective solutions that deliver value where the consumer sees it and the user needs it.
