Ergonomic excellence
is a key part of product design and DCA have a team
of designers with experience and training in developing
ergonomic solutions for a diverse range of products.
The ergonomic content of a project can be summarised
as the interaction between the user and the product.
It may involve the comfort and efficiency of a screwdriver
in the hand, the height and angle at which an LCD display
is set, the effect of colour and sound on a user, seating
comfort or the force required to move a lever.
The age, size and weight of
users who interact with most products vary considerably
and this must be considered during development. Research
of existing data is usually the starting point for most
solutions; however rig building and user trials will
invariably be the most important tools in the process.
Whatever the product, DCA will recommend that simulation
rigs be built to test ergonomic performance. |
