In an increasingly connected world, new challenges have emerged in delivering compelling user experiences. Our multidisciplinary approach delivers product interactions across integrated physical and digital platforms that are simple, intuitive and a delight to use.
Our team combines interaction, graphic and industrial designers, researchers, hardware and software engineers to develop co-ordinated product experiences. Whether extending products with digital touchpoints or developing interactions for embedded hardware, we use an integrated approach to create future facing concepts and develop these through to production.
Understanding end user and stakeholder needs is the foundation of delivering value in an increasingly connected space.
We take a structured approach to UX research built from our design, strategy and human factors offers to create objective frameworks for measuring performance against user goals.
We are constantly exploring the practical and social implications of new technology.
Experiencing the technology first hand day-to-day helps the team to cut through the hype to understand where the real value lies.
As a multidisciplinary team we develop and evaluate concepts across product, application and service layers. We use this approach to explore the broader innovation challenge and address user needs with the correct balance of digital and physical device touchpoints.
GRAPHIC USER INTERFACE DESIGN
User expectations of interface performance, graphical quality and usability are rapidly accelerating.
From embedded safety critical interfaces to extending a product with an app, DCA's team works to deliver pixel perfect GUI (graphic user interface) at the highest levels of usability and graphic quality. We work across a full range of platforms and have developed a unique suite of tools that enable us to develop GUIs flexibly, iteratively and quickly, even for the most basic embedded hardware platforms.
PHYSICAL INTERFACE DESIGN
How does your product communicate user interaction? DCA have been helping shape product interactions for over 50 years.
Refining how products communicate function through their form has key benefits for product success. By controlling product affordances, we can improve usability, reduce the reliance on instructions and develop products that are a delight to use. From medical devices to cabs of intercity trains, we apply interaction approaches and principles to design the physical touchpoints that connect users to experiences.
Interactions take place in time and space, therefore to fully evaluate products with digital interfaces they need to be stress tested against realistic scenarios.
Nothing quite matches getting an interaction into the hands of users and key project stakeholders to help them engage with the "wow" moment. At DCA we have the in-house skills to prototype embedded devices on representative hardware and develop corresponding Android / iOS / web applications to bring interactions to life.
