DCA extends capabilities with state-of-the-art high speed video equipment

We are excited to announce a recent upgrade to our high-speed video capability with the purchase of a Photron FASTCAM MINI AX100 high-speed video camera and state-of-the-art LED lighting rig.

Capable of capturing video at up to 540,000 frames per second, this technically advanced piece of equipment enables our engineering team to undertake detailed technical analysis of high-speed, transient events such as impact, complex mechanism dynamics and spray / plume characterisation. The system supports accurate tracking of velocity and acceleration of individual features on objects, which allows detailed correlation to be made with non-linear finite element impact studies.
