DCA presents at the NDM conference

Published on: 30th June 2017

DCA attended the Naturalistic Decision Making (NDM) conference on the 21st June 2017 and presented a paper with Elekta titled ‘Deciding to design better user interfaces’.

The paper describes an approach developed to establish information requirements for human machine interfaces within complex systems. The approach, rooted in decision making, is not limited to the design of digital interfaces; instead, it encourages the consideration of information that is distributed across the physical, digital and social environment.

The presentation used the case study of the design of radiotherapy equipment to explain the approach, creating an explicit link between analysis and the design of physical and digital artefacts.
