steel sheet metalwork remains the dominant material
of choice for external surfaces in this market,
but we have shown that even at relatively low production
volumes this need not stifle creativity. The localised
use of pressing, punching and piercing can add dramatically
to the perceived product quality and value, without
incurring high tooling costs. Furthermore,
there are numerous opportunities to introduce
less traditional processes, materials and finishes
where appropriate. These can open up a wide range
of options on form, finish and colour, which,
in conjunction with the application of graphics,
provide further possibilities for product differentiation.
