A good understanding of body mechanics, the activities being performed and the interactions between humans and products is essential to the good ergonomic design of your product or environment. By carrying out a task analysis, where methods such as procedure and functional mapping, postural analysis and critical path analysis are used, we are able to dissect what can be complex tasks into digestible and manageable chunks that can be easily analysed.
Task analysis often helps us identify specific aspects of the direct or extended product, including supporting literature, that we can develop to promote its efficient and effective use.
Assessments can investigate areas of particular interest including product features, supporting communications, instructions, design cues and cognitive and physical feedback.
