DCA’s designers and engineers were asked to translate early Priestman Goode sketches into detail designs using our knowledge of materials and processes, and the application of railway and ATOC standards.

A key part of the design process was to ensure the feasibility, ease of maintenance and reliability of the interiors, as Bombardier’s manufacturing contract included the upkeep and repair of the trains for the first twelve years of service.

Particular attention was given to meeting the needs of disabled passengers and providing ease of access to all the on-board services.
