Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games hit town

Published on: 5th August 2022

This Sunday, Warwick plays host to 160 of the world’s best cyclists as they take part in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games cycling road race. The event starts and finishes a stone’s throw from DCA’s offices and will showcase the picturesque market town we work in, including the famous castle, our beautiful parks along the River Avon, and the numerous historic buildings.

Commonwealth Games fever has really taken hold in the region, with banners and flags on prominent display. The market square in the heart of Warwick has been transformed into a festival site with deck chairs and picnic benches added to the resident pub seating and a large viewing screen live streaming the Games to provide an opportunity for all members of the community to be part of the experience.
