New Designers: DCA Futures Award 2022

DCA are proud to be championing the next generation of designers by sponsoring an award at the New Designers Show for a second year. New Designers 2022 was back as an in-person event being held at the Business Design Centre in London.

Dai Sanders, Anna Jaanus and Martin Crofton spent the first day of the show judging the DCA Futures Award in addition to handing out several ‘Love Tags’ to students who demonstrated high levels of creativity and talent.

We are delighted to announce that Harry McLachlan from Loughborough University won this year’s DCA Futures Award for Ocular, his incredibly well-thought-through portable eye diagnostic device. Alongside the director of the V&A museum, Tristan Hunt, Dai Sanders presented Harry with his award at the New Designers prize ceremony.

We will be looking forward to welcoming Harry to our offices in Warwick so that he can take advantage of the 6-week placement and £1000 cash prize. Harry will be adding to the growing DCA/New Designers alumni which now exceeds 50 since its inception 37 years ago.
