We are delighted to announce the winner of the DCA Packaging Futures Award 2021

DCA are proud to be championing and celebrating the future of design and innovation at New designers 2021.

New Designers provides a unique platform for fresh design talent to connect with design educators, professionals and consumers, for creative exchange and collaboration. DCA challenged the next generation of creatives to design a new FMCG product or packaging system to help shift consumer behaviours to a more sustainable future.

The DCA Packaging Futures Award was judged by our leading FMCG experts, Peter Kay and Dai Sanders, who have been responsible for bringing some of the most iconic FMCG brands to market over the last 30 years.

“This was our first experience sponsoring an award for New Designers. We were truly impressed by the standard of submissions we received, the quality of thinking around the need to reduce packaging waste, and the understanding of the challenges involved.

It was a pleasure to review the proposals, interview the short list of candidates and ultimately to select a single winner.”

After reviewing a wide range of creative solutions submitted against our brief, we are delighted to announce the winner of the New Designers Packaging Futures Award is Samantha Tung.

Combining smart, universal containers with a dedicated delivery vehicle, we were impressed by Samantha’s strong thinking and well-presented story of her sustainable vision for a package-free grocery delivery service.

Our award offers the winner a 6 week paid internship and £1000 cash prize. Congratulations Samantha and we look forward to welcoming you to DCA and our ever-growing New Designers Alumni!
