DCA offers students from 20 schools insight into a career in design

Last week DCA visited Wellington College to join their annual ‘Arts Career’ evening to talk to students from the college and schools from the Wellington College Teaching School Partnership (WCTS).

DCA’s director Nick Mival introduced the students to the product design industry and talked through various project examples and different routes into the industry. It was a busy and successful event with representatives from a broad range of creative industries.

“It’s always great to introduce our world of design to a new generation. Wellington had done a fantastic job of collecting different experts to talk to students from a wide range of schools. There was an enormous amount of interest and enthusiasm, I’m just glad I was not the fine artist painting a live portrait of a member of staff which was stunning and entirely completed in the event in front of everyone!“

The WCTS is made up of 19 partner schools, which branch across different sectors and different local authorities. Strategic partners help with the delivery of particular aspects of the Teaching School framework.
