New state-of-the-art metering pump for Watson-Marlow

Watson-Marlow, the world’s largest peristaltic pump manufacturer, recently launched the Qdos30, the first member of their new Qdos range of metering pumps.

The launch met with widespread industry acclaim and unprecedented order levels. DCA was instrumental in this success through its support of the multiprocessor hardware architectural design and its writing of the embedded software. The project was delivered against tight deadlines for a show based launch.

This type of pump is used in critical applications such as drinking water disinfection and reagent dosing in mineral processing. Software malfunction could have potentially far reaching consequences. DCA’s quality management system and software development procedure played a vital part in ensuring that delivered software was robust and reliable.

Andrew Green, Watson-Marlow’s Technical Director, and head of the Qdos development team, said: “The Qdos team have benefited enormously from DCA’s disciplined approach to software development, resulting in the most robust code we have delivered. The product has been successfully launched and has been enthusiastically met by the marketplace.”
