Home and garden

Will our homes really become ‘smart’ or will they simply become ‘mildly brighter’? Beyond the ‘rise of the bins’ how else are our consumption agendas and behaviour going to change the landscapes of our homes and gardens?

We have been designing new products for homes and gardens since 1960. We have helped people shower more enjoyably, heat their homes more effectively, keep their gardens more easily and complete their DIY more quickly.

Over the last fifty years we have visited tens of thousands of homes. On a micro contextual scale we have observed how people live and the ‘residue’ that surrounds them. On a more macro scale we have studied geographical nuances and the shifting social, political and cultural trends. This combination has helped us understand exactly who we are designing for, what are the influences on their choices and systematically where and how we should be creating value for them.
