Fitting and validation trials

Fitting trials allow design concepts to be tested, validated and optimised for users, both statically and dynamically.

Such trials can use experimental techniques in which sample individuals drawn from the target user groups are observed, interviewed and recorded whilst interacting with adjustable mock-ups or alternative block model configurations. The analysis of these experiments is used to allow decisions to be made regarding the suitability of shape, size and and format of the product in question.

During fitting trials, task simulations can be performed to allow a thorough psychophysical assessment of the product, and its use, to be carried out.

Fitting and validation trials can work in conjunction with task analysis to explore and assess areas such as control panel layouts, user interfaces and product formats.
